Two Buccaneers players suspended due to performance enhancing drugs

More bad news for the Bucs: FB Jorvorskie Lane (#46) and DT Da’Quan Bowers (#91) have both been suspended for testing positive for performance enhancing drugs. Lane’s suspension was announced last week with the news about Bowers coming out after the bye week was over. Both men will be eligible to return November 3. They will not count against the 53-man roster while on suspension.

Head Coach Lovie Smith expressed his disappointment with both players.

“We need everyone,” Smith said. “There’s a reason why [Bowers] was on our football team but, you know, people make mistakes and there are consequences with the mistakes that you make. We’ll welcome him back at that point but right now for both guys they hurt our football team by not being available this weekend and the next.”
